Soldering iron for jewelry?
I am looking for a soldering iron to use to close jump rings.
just basic gold jump rings, i want to solder so they do not come apart as I make jewelry.
Do I HAVE to use a torch? or is there a iron that is easier for jewelry?

I've used soldering irons for many things but not jewelry - I just don't think it'll work for you.
How about a cheap (approx. $10) propane torch from the hardware store? That'll do the job.
