Where can I find bronze colored crucifixes and eye pins at wholesale pricing?
A friend of mine asked me if I could fix the chain on her rosary (because I make jewelry) and after examining it I got the idea to add rosaries to the jewelry I make. I found some bronze colored center pieces (about 20 for $2.00!) at Micheal's, but all of the crucifixes they had were gold or silver tone, and they had absolutely no bronze colored eye pins. I've looked at a few websites and haven't seen any of the metal findings I need in bronze at an affordable price. I'm open to suggestions of alternative color/material schemes as well, but I'd like to find AT LEAST the crucifixes in a bronze color so the necklaces will look nice.
have you tried http://www.wholesalejewelry.net They have tons of religious themed jewelry at very low prices. They also have tons of bronze and copper toned jewelry items. If you just want parts, you can take apart the necklaces and use what you want--the prices are comparable or better than what you paid for the bronze colored pieces you mentioned.
You can also use earrings and other pieces of jewelry in this way. It's a great way to find parts you have trouble locating. Just scrounge for parts by buying wholesale assembled jewelry that has the parts you want and dissect them to get exactly what you need... plus you'll also get extra spare parts this way, which can be nice. As long as you're buying wholesale, the prices should be at least as good if not better than a retail place like Micheal's, even though you're getting assembled jewelry and not just the specific pieces you're interested in. Wholesale prices for costume jewelry should be very, very low... no more than 50 cents to $1.00 per pair of earrings or 50 cents to $2 per necklace, and you will typically be buying by the dozen. Also, since each earring of a pair is in effect a center piece, you can further cut that per-unit cost in half if you buy earrings in this way. It's something to consider, especially if you're having no luck at craft stores and parts merchants.
I would suggest looking here first: http://www.wholesalejewelry.net/contents/en-us/d26.html
You can also try looking at wholesale clearing house sites. http://www.wholesalecentral.com is one of the best, and there are tons of different wholesalers present on there. This is a good way to find wholesalers you can trust. Also try http://www.closeoutcentral.com for closeout deals.
You might also want to try amazon or ebay, although the first is not wholesale and the second is riskier.
Whoever you shop with, be careful. Make sure the checkout is secure and encrypted (look for the s in https:// prefix at the checkout page where you enter your credit card information). Read their privacy policy and make sure they aren't going to sell your address to marketers and spammers. Also check their return policy in case you want/need to send anything back and make sure they have a PHONE NUMBER where you can call and quickly speak to a real person who will help you with any problems or help you find something that you're looking for. The reason I tend to try Wholesale Jewelry and Accessories (http://www.wholesalejewelry.net) first is because they are reliable, trust worthy, and have a very friendly customer service department backed up with a rock solid returns policy. This is important since you will presumably want someone you can come back to when you need more supplies. So, no matter who you shop with, find someone you can trust and build a relationship with, or better yet find several such suppliers. Try to get to know a particular person at that company by name so that you have a specific person to deal with and who might be able to help you when you need something specific or maybe even could hook you up with a special deal.
That's my advice and I hope it helps and I hope you find what you are looking for! Good luck to you!
Silver Christmas Ornaments - The Perfect Touch For Any Holiday Decor
Whether your holiday decorating style is voluptuous Victorian, festive folk art, or merry mid-century modern, silver Christmas ornaments can add the perfect touch.
If you love the gleam and glitter of silver, Christmas is the ideal time to indulge. Silver ornaments of all types, from authentic sterling heirloom treasures of craftsmanship to frankly-fake creations in foil or plastic, can play a starring role in any foliday decor.
Vintage Looks for Classic Victorian Elegance
Silver tones were very popular during the Victorian period, and elaborate silver ornaments embellished with carvings, set with stones, and decorated with intricate filagree were popular keepsake gifts that were handed down from generation to generation.
Few of us are fortunate enough to actually own antique Victorian silver ornaments, but modern sterling ornaments like the Gorham 2010 Snowflake Ornament, 41st Edition or the Reed & Barton Williamsburg Chippendale Sterling Silver Filigree Cross ornament capture the essence of Victorian style beautifully.
Silver accents can also add a dash of Victorian drama and elegance to mantlepieces and tabletops. Fill a classic silver bowl like Reed & Barton's Paul Revere 8-Inch Silver-plated Bowl with colorful fruit and tuck in some sprigs of fir or pine for true turn of the century style.
Add A Warm Glow to Folk Art Decor
If you love the simple, homey warmth of Folk Art Christmas decorating, count on silver accents to add just the right amount of sparkle and shine. The mellow glow of silver Christmas ornaments works beautifully in combination with natural materials and gives even the simplest arrangements a happy holiday touch.
Consider a Christmas classic like the Wallace 2010 Silver-Plated Sleigh Bell Ornament, 40th Anniversary Edition to bring a touch of silver to wreaths or arrangements. These lovely ornaments are dated, making them ideal heirlooms to be treasured for generations.
Silver Sparkles in Mid-Century Retro Style
Silver tones, from sterling to chrome, were wildly popular during the post-war period of the fifties and sixties. Bring some authentic retro flair to your holiday decor with ornaments featuring clean lines, like the Reed & Barton Annual Sterling Silver Dated Christmas Bell. This engraved, dated heirloom-in-the-making goes perfectly with retro decor.
The sleek stylized shapes characteristic of retro decorating are echoed in many modern silver ornaments that depict traditional holiday shapes like trees, stars, bells, or santa figures. On a tree or wreath they'll add an unmistakeably retro touch.
