When measuring watch spring bars which part do you measure?
Question for a jeweler maybe?
I have the old pins and a dial calipers but I am unsure what to measure.
The pins have 3 different areas that could be measured
1) an uncompressed length (this would be the longest length)
2) an overall compressed length
3) the middle barrel part that houses the springs - not including the moving end pieces (this would be the shortest length)
Or should I just measure the space on the watch/band where the pins fits into?
The diameter of the pin I assume is the barrel part that houses the springs.
I think I need a 1.78mm (1.8mm) diameter stainless steel double flange spring bar with a length between 9mm and 16mm.
