Best way to polish antique silver plare. Is Jewlers rouge and buffing wheel a goo0d idea ?
have several antique pieces of silver plate date to 1859 and were my great grandmother's wedding gift from the groom's family they are used for display only but have gotten quite tarnished recently. I wondered if polishing them with a buffing wheel and Jewelers Rouge would be the best way to clean them up and polish them?i
First, be sure the piece's value doesn't depend on a patina - that thing they always talk about on PBS's Antiques Roadshow.
The link below is for a recipe I have used with excellent results on my silver. Especiially useful for those pieces with nooks and crannies, as your arm will not wear off with all the rubbing!
Try it on a piece of silver and see how it works, then move on to the big stuff. So easy, and all I have to do is buff the piece a bit with a nice cloth after (I have hard water and it likes to leave marks).

An Seiko automatic watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearer's arm, instead of having to be wound manually every day. The hardlex crystal on the front is nice and thick. The dial markers glow in the dark along with the hour and minute hands. It seems to be reliable and to be a quality watch as one would expect from a Seiko.
ThisSeiko watch looks very nice on the wrist, not big but big enough in the classic sense of watch size. Constructed with a stainless steel case, this durably built timepiece also includes a stainless steel bezel and a stainless steel link bracelet with a single-push-button-safety three fold over clasp. The dial face also includes a day and date calendar at the 3 o'clock position. The day is written in red color which looks nice on black dial. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of 21-jewel automatic movements and water resistant up to 30 meters.
