jewelry making ... What kind of cable do I use to make bracelets?
I am a "newbie" in jewelry making and my first project will be a bracelet for a friend. I am confused as to what kind of cable you need to string beads. I think the use of some silver letters 7mm alphabet and some of 6 mm (not sure yet) Swarovski crystals. Do I use stainless steel wire with a layer of nylon and Accu-flex? I think the use of .014 "diameter wire, is this too thin? There are so many to choose from, please help! I want something with a curtain, I think the memory is too rigid cable
I always use SoftFlex thread, I think that is too rigid beadalon. SoftFlex is more expensive, about $ 11.00 per 30 'roll, but if you're just making a project, your local store accounts should be able to help with the sale of a few feet of it. It should cost around 0.39 per foot. Always have an open reel used the store. I always use a foot of wire for a bracelet, which leaves you enough to work when you are putting at the closing, then you can cut the ends. Normally I use 0014: 0019 sometimes does not pass through the smaller grains or through the rivets when placed twice at close., but with larger grains, as you are planning on using it might be appropriate. When you need to know what size your bracelet should be, measure the right wrist where it joins the hand. That is the length of the grains. When you put the finishing touch that should do it just about the right size, but still a good idea to try before the snap, only accounts meet around your wrist when you hold it in place. You will need spacers between the alpha accounts to hang straight. 5mm sterling silver beads or pearls disk-shaped work well. Your accounts can help you shop, you might consider taking a class wrist and has to be your project., Just so you know how to the finishing and final.
