Should I change the spelling for my Last name? (male)?
My last name is French, but about 3 generations ago is was changed from Loup to Loupe. People always promounce it "Loo-Pay", which pisses me off. I thought I would take control of my own destiny and make the change for myself. It is also an honor to my past generations and much cooler as Loup in French means Wolf. Loupe is a eye socket magnifying glass used by jewlers.
I just got married a year ago while we were out of the country. We are about to move back, so now is a good time for my wife to change her name also, so it would be good timing.
I haven't talked with my family about it but I don't think it would be a big deal...
