My platinum ring is slightly yellow, how could that happen?
I have my engagement ring a week. My boyfriend and I bought together to a trusted jeweler. It is a platinum solo. the pins that hold the diamond, are luxurious and revolve around the diamond. However, inside the teeth look slightly yellow, so slightly that no one but me seems to be able to see except under a magnifying glass. However, it makes the diamond look slightly yellow around the edges, and this bothers me. I wonder what the cause of this discoloration may be. I tried it with regular cleaning store bought jewelry cleaner, but that does not help. I'm nervous about returning to store, so I really like your help.
Perhaps the ring is platinum and gold teeth are black nickel.
