Would a silver/white pendant match a gold necklace chain?
I'm trying to get something good for my mom for Christmas so I'm just surfing the jewelry section on amazon. I've found some silver pendants:

It looks to me like the full necklaces (pendant + chain) in my price range (about $100) don't have suitable chains to go with the pendants. So would a separate gold chain go well with one of those pendants listed above or is that a faux pas when picking out jewelry?
Also, I'm trying to avoid the simulated materials. I'm not very good at picking this sort of stuff out (really no talent whatsoever) so could someone give me some tips? Thanks : ) ...
